We
love to use the green Scotch moss (Sagina subulata) and the gold
Irish moss (Sagina subulata ‘Aurea’) in the fairy gardens as a
groundcover. They hug the ground and are covered in tiny white flowers in
the spring. The pots can be split and the plants used to tuck into tiny
corners and between stepping stones to give your garden that finished
look.
If you need a tiny leaved vine to climb a wall, arbor or fence in your miniature garden try variegated fig vine (Ficus repens variegata). The green leaves have a white border that looks crisp and clean. It is slow growing and easily maintained.
