ABOUT US

We are a retail garden center for serious gardeners and those new to gardening. Owners Sharon Lee Smith and Mary Wilhite started the business as wholesale growers of herb plants then expanded to cottage flowers and perennials. The retail location opened in 1993 and the 12 greenhouses on site are now used for growing herbs, perennials, old fashioned flowers and unusual annuals for the retail nursery.

Visit Blue Moon Gardens and you’ll discover another world. Nestled in the rolling hills and piney woods of East Texas , Blue Moon Gardens offers an oasis of beauty and tranquility.

This setting creates an enchanting atmosphere to shop for a wide selection of tasty herbs and vegetables, cottage garden flowers, heirloom and native plants and unusual shrubs and tropicals.

The gift shop is filled with candles, fragrant soaps and lotions, decorative home and garden accents, fairy garden accessories, relaxing music, books, wind chimes, and more.

We are concerned about the effect our actions have on the environment. We use organic gardening practices on all our gardens and natural products on our crops. We sell organic soil additives, fertilizers and other products and educate our customers on “going green”.
